What Lygon St Christian Chapel Believes
We believe the Bible is God's true and trustworthy Word—our authority for faith and life.
We believe every person has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). The penalty for sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God.
But God, in His mercy, sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross, taking the punishment we deserve. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
We cannot save ourselves through good works or moral effort. Salvation is a gift from God—we are saved by His grace when we put our trust in Jesus Christ. Those who believe in Him are adopted as God's children, restored to relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit.
