Welcome!

If you are here for the first time, welcome! Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help.

Our Sunday service runs from 11am to about 12:15pm. After the singing and announcements, the adults listen to the Bible read and preached, while most children move to the back hall for Sunday School. Join a small group during the week to read the bible, pray and share our lives.

We preach about Jesus from the Bible

And while this might mean you’ll learn some things on how to be a better person, how to have a better marriage, or how to be more fulfilled in life—that’s not really the point. Because without Jesus, nothing matters. It’s because of Jesus that we can be a better person. Only Jesus can make a marriage better.

This means we teach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. Often we’ll go through whole books of the Bible, verse by verse, to show you what the whole Bible teaches and how it relates to Jesus.

The sermons are long. About 30-45min or so each. Yet, people keep coming. Why do we do this? Because the Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God, the Bible. So we want to preach as much of it as we can. All our sermons are online, so you can check out all this by giving a listen yourself.

Worship / Music

Our music is a mixture of contemporary songs and older hymns – but always about Jesus. It is part of the way in which we prepare our hearts and minds to hear the word and to respond to that word. Also, as part of our worship, we take communion together and give offerings to support God’s work at Lygon St Christian Chapel.

Kids Sunday School

Each Sunday, your child will learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The lessons are fun and approachable and taught by committed volunteers and staff who serve Jesus by serving you and your kids.
