God's Son, My Refuge
Psalm 2 (by Melvin Lo @ AM)

Find the outline of this sermon here:

- Evolving around us vs evolving around God
Conspiracy – the voice of men’s rebellion (vv.1-3)
 The world’s hatred
Acts 4:24-29: When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to
God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea,
and everything in them. You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your
servant, our father David: “‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
 and the rulers band together
 against the Lord

and against his anointed one. Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with
the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant
Jesus, whom you anointed. They did what your power and will had decided
beforehand should happen. Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your
servants to speak your word with great boldness.
 The world’s desire
Gen.2.16-17; The Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in
the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when
you eat of it you will surely die.”
Victory – the voice of God’s response (vv.4-9)
 Ridicule
 Anger
Opportunity – the voice that appeals for a decision (vv.10-12)
 How do you see God?
 How do you see others?
Psalm 110.1 ‘The Lord says to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a
footstool for your feet.’
